Q. How long does a consultation go for?

A. An initial consultation is approximately 1 hour and a follow up consultation is 30 minutes.

Q. How many consultations will I require?

A. This is completely individual and depends on the presenting health condition, whether it is an acute  or chronic conditions and the particular journey of the client. Some clients may only require 2 consultations while other may need many more.

Q. What is the difference between Naturopathy and Homeopathy?

A. Naturopathy is a umbrella for many different natural treatments including nutrition, nutritional supplements, herbal medicine, flower essences and homeopathy. Homeopathic medicine is bases on the principle of like cures like and is a system where very small doses of a substance are administered for healing to take place. A Homeopath only administers homeopathic medication where as a Naturopath may use homeopathic medication as one aspect of treatment. Dionne does not use homeopathic medication in her treatment as she has not had the training to do so.

Q. How does Naturopathic medicine work?

A. Naturopathic treatment is based on the principle that given the correct support, the body has an innate ability to heal itself. By addressing the underlying cause of the condition rather than treating symptomatically and providing the body with correct nourishment, emotional support and using other natural treatments the body is able to return to a state of homeostasis.

Q. What conditions can Naturopathy help with?

A. All conditions! This is as it is about supporting the body and determining why it has come to a state of dis-ease. Dionne mainly focuses on mental health, pregnancy and preconception care and digestive issues.

Q. Will I have to make changes to my diet and lifestyle?

A. The short answer is yes. The reason you are having health issues is because your body is responding to the way it is being treated. It is a message to you that something needs to change. Every symptom whether physical, mental or emotional is simply the body letting you know it is unhappy or not being listened to. In order to truly heal you must listen to the message the body is trying to convey and make the appropriate changes.
